Heidi: I wanted to express our sincere thanks to you for your help in lifting two cantilevered parasols off the roof of the Great John Street Hotel on Saturday. As James may have mentioned, we had been offered the entire contents of the hotel to sell in aid of three local charities, The Maggies Centre at the Christie Hospital; Prevent Breast Cancer at Wythenshawe Hospital and the Lord Mayors Charity in aid of the homeless in Manchester. 100% of the proceeds from the sale will go to these local charities.
The firemen who have been furloughed from Manchester Airport had kindly helped to clear the hotel contents, but they were unable to move the parasols due to their size and weight. This was frustrating to say the least as we had a willing buyer which in turn meant there would be a significant donation to the three charities. To say that we were grateful to you for supplying the crane on Saturday is an understatement! We are indebted to you and I wanted to say a huge Thank You on behalf of the volunteers and also the three charities. Whilst writing, I would like to say that Dave the driver was lovely to work with – very patient and clearly was an excellent operator. Would you kindly pass our thanks on to Dave also please?

We will let you know how much we raise from the sale of all the stock later this month, but in the meantime many thanks for helping us to achieve something that we thought may be impossible.
